The method explainedWhat Is Sensory Energetics?
Sensory Energetics (KSE®, Kyusho Sensory Energetics) is a somatic energy method founded by Dr. Daniel Flash. It combines the vital point knowledge of Kyusho, Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern somatic psychology, to help people release stored tension, calm the nervous system and reconnect with the energy of their own body.

The body already knows how to heal. KSE helps it remember.
Sensory Energetics works with the body instead of the thinking mind. Through precise contact, breath, movement and guided attention, it speaks directly to the nervous system, the fascia and the energy channels known in Chinese medicine as meridians.
Sensory Energetics was not created to give the body a new ability. It helps people rediscover the potential that is already within them.
The name says it all. Kyusho is the Japanese art of vital points. Sensory because the work happens through what you feel, not what you think. Energetics because every session works with the flow of Qi, the life energy of the body. Together they form KSE®, a registered method taught in seminars around the world and online.
From village guardians to a modern method
The same knowledge that can overwhelm the body can also restore it.
- Ancient Asia
Guardians who fought and healed
Village guardians protected the community with knowledge of the body's vital points, and used the same knowledge to relieve pain, treat injuries and restore the flow of energy along the meridians.
- Childhood to 17
A martial artist from Misiones
Daniel Flash began martial arts at three in Misiones, Argentina, won his first national title at six and became a World Champion in Korea as a teenager. At 17 he moved to Taiwan and began studying Kyusho.
- Taiwan, China & Japan
The hidden side of Kyusho
Years with masters of martial arts, Kyusho, energy work and psychosomatic therapy showed him how anatomy, the nervous system, fascia, emotion and energy flow are connected.
- 2020
The method takes shape
During the isolation of the pandemic, Dr. Daniel turned decades of practice into a clear sequence anyone could learn: Sensory Energetics.
- Today
A worldwide community
Seminars across Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East, an online practice community, and certified facilitators in many countries.
Three traditions, one method
Ancient Eastern energy knowledge meets Western body oriented psychology.
Kyusho and vital points
Kyusho maps the sensitive points where nerves, vessels and meridians meet. In KSE this map is used only for wellbeing: to release tension, wake up sensation and help the body reorganise itself.
Qigong and Chinese medicine
From Traditional Chinese and Japanese medicine come the meridians, the energy centres and the idea of Qi. From Qigong come the breath, posture and movement of daily practice.
Somatic psychology
Pierre Janet, Wilhelm Reich, Alexander Lowen and John Pierrakos showed how emotion is held in the body as tension. KSE works with that link: as the body lets go, emotions can move too.
What happens in a Sensory Energetics session
There is nothing to believe and nothing to force. You lie, sit or stand, and you notice. The facilitator guides; your body does the work, through light contact along the spine and meridians, through movement and breath, or without touch at all.
- 01
The nervous system settles
Precise stimulation and slow breathing help the body shift out of constant alert and into rest and repair.
- 02
Natural tremors begin
Many people feel spontaneous shaking or waves of vibration, one of the body's own ways of discharging stress.
- 03
Held emotion is released
Stored tension can come up as tears, laughter, warmth or deep sighs. It is welcomed, never pushed.
- 04
Energy and clarity return
Participants often describe feeling lighter, calmer and more present in their body afterwards.
Two ways to learn Sensory Energetics
No previous experience is needed. Therapists, bodyworkers, coaches, athletes, artists and people simply looking for a better relationship with their body learn side by side.

Dr. Daniel Flash
Doctor of Natural Medicine · World Champion · International teacher
Dr. Daniel has spent his life between martial arts, Asian languages and the healing traditions of Taiwan, China and Japan. He is one of the few foreigners invited to learn and teach energetic practices that were once kept within lineages. Sensory Energetics is the result: a method that keeps the depth of that knowledge and makes it practical, safe and learnable for modern people.
Sensory Energetics FAQ
Sensory Energetics is a wellbeing and personal development practice and is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. Experiences described on this page are those commonly reported by participants and vary from person to person.
What is Sensory Energetics?
Sensory Energetics is a somatic energy method founded by Dr. Daniel Flash. It combines Kyusho vital point knowledge, Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine with somatic psychology to help people release tension, regulate the nervous system and reconnect with the energy of their body. It is taught through six modules, in seminars and online.
What does KSE stand for?
KSE stands for Kyusho Sensory Energetics. KSE® is the registered name of the method.
Is Sensory Energetics a martial art?
No. It grew out of Kyusho, the martial art of vital points, but Sensory Energetics uses that knowledge only for health, wellbeing and personal growth. There is no fighting or self defence in the method.
Is Sensory Energetics the same as Qigong?
Qigong is one of its roots. Sensory Energetics uses Qigong breathing and movement, especially in daily practice, and adds vital point work, facilitated sessions and somatic psychology.
What does a session feel like?
Most people feel deep relaxation, warmth, tingling or waves of vibration. Many experience natural tremors or an emotional release. Everyone's experience is different, and nothing is forced.
Is Sensory Energetics a medical treatment?
No. Sensory Energetics is a complementary wellbeing practice. It does not diagnose or treat medical conditions and does not replace care from a doctor or therapist. If you have a health condition, keep following your medical treatment and talk to your doctor before you begin.
Do I need experience to join a seminar?
No experience is needed. You can start with any module, and many students join simply to work on themselves before deciding whether to become a facilitator.
How do I become a Sensory Energetics facilitator?
Facilitators train in person through the modules and receive international KSE® certification. See the 2026 seminar calendar for upcoming dates and locations.
Can I learn Sensory Energetics online?
Yes. The Self-Ignition Programme is an online community with daily Qigong and energy practice and live classes. Facilitator certification is taught in person.
Feel it for yourself
